Life & Habit Tracking,
Rooted in Truth.
A privacy-first personal tracker built around three core pillars: 1-tap rapid logging, visual momentum heatmaps, and on-device statistical causal discovery. Zero accounts. Zero internet permissions. 100% on your phone.
The Three Pillars of Smerio Nomos
Designed from first principles to turn daily capture into effortless habit momentum and scientific personal insight.
1-Tap Fast Logging & Zero Friction
Most trackers fail because multi-step modal forms make daily logging a chore. In Nomos, every habit records in exactly one tap with your personalized default attributes. When you need granularity, expandable drawers offer numeric steppers, rating scales (1–5), and categorical boolean tags in seconds.
- 1-Tap logging with pre-configured default values (e.g. 1000 ml water)
- Relative time shortcuts: Now, 1h ago, Last Night, Yesterday
- Expandable drawer for optional deep attribute adjustments
- Full support for boolean chips, 1–5 scales, and numeric inputs with custom units
Visual Momentum & Pixela Heatmaps
Build honest consistency with GitHub/Pixela-style contribution matrices. Nomos features real-time anchoring—inactive habits display genuine historical gaps rather than skewed timelines. Seamlessly drill down from annual 52-week calendars to monthly views and 24-hour chronological day timelines.
- 52-week contribution heatmap grids with 5 intensity ramps
- Multi-scale temporal zoom: All Time → Year → Month → Week → 24h Day
- Period-aware streaks: consecutive day and period tracking with honest zero-resets
- 24-Hour circadian density charts revealing morning, afternoon, and night patterns
On-Device Causal Discovery & Personal Trials
Move beyond misleading correlations. Nomos runs rigorous on-device statistical engines (Chi-Square exact p-values, False Discovery Rate control, and 2x2 Odds Ratios). Test your lifestyle hypotheses with automated 2-phase N-of-1 elimination experiments (Elimination → Reintroduction → Statistical Verdict).
- Causal classification: Routine Stacks, Time-Lagged Triggers, and Confounder Warnings
- 2-Phase N-of-1 elimination trial protocols with automated Relative Risk verdicts
- Benjamini-Hochberg FDR control to filter out random spurious correlations
- 100% on-device compute: all statistical modeling executes locally on your phone
Multi-Scale Temporal Analytics
Experience honest habit momentum with Pixela/GitHub-style contribution matrices, real-time anchoring, and deep temporal drilldowns.
On-Device Causal Discovery & Personal Trials
Don't settle for superficial correlations. Nomos isolates genuine drivers with contingency matrices, confounder stratification, and 14-day N-of-1 elimination protocols.
Automated Pattern Scan
Late Alcohol ➔ Sleep Restlessness
Consuming alcohol after 21:00 significantly degrades sleep restfulness the following night.
Creatine + Resistance Training
Symmetric intentional behavior bundle. High co-occurrence identified without negative causation.
Banana ➔ Migraine (Spurious)
Correlation drops to 0 when stratified by Sleep Deprivation. Bananas are consumed as comfort food after poor sleep.
2-Phase N-of-1 Personal Trial
Protocol for: Late Alcohol ➔ Sleep RestlessnessEliminate guesswork. Nomos guides you through an empirical single-subject trial protocol:
Completely eliminate suspected trigger (e.g. Late Alcohol) from your evening routine.
Reintroduce habit in controlled quantity to measure symptom recurrence.
Chi-square calculation determines if causal relative risk RR ≥ 1.8 is statistically confirmed.

No registration, no passwords, no email signups, and no phone numbers required.
Zero Internet Permissions
Nomos does not declare network permissions; data never leaves your device.
0 Remote Servers
Zero analytics SDKs, zero advertising trackers, and zero cloud databases.
1. Information We Do NOT Collect
Smerio Nomos does not harvest, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII) or device metadata. Specifically, we do not collect:
- Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or account credentials.
- Advertising IDs (AAID), hardware identifiers (IMEI, MAC address), or device fingerprints.
- GPS location, WiFi identifiers, or network telemetry.
- In-app behavioral telemetry, click tracking, or usage statistics.
2. Architectural Zero-Network Security
Unlike most wellness apps that store your habits on remote servers, Nomos enforces privacy at the operating system level:
android.permission.INTERNET in its application manifest. The Android OS physically prevents the app from initiating or receiving any network connections.3. On-Device Data Storage & Encryption
All your habits, logged entries, modular attributes, and N-of-1 trial histories are saved strictly within your phone's sandboxed local Room/SQLite database.
- AES-256-GCM Encrypted Snapshots: When creating a backup, Nomos encrypts your entire database using AES-256-GCM authenticated encryption with a user-supplied password.
- Storage Access Framework (SAF): Export and import operations rely solely on system-level file pickers without requiring broad file storage permissions.
4. Third-Party Services & Analytics
Smerio Nomos contains zero third-party SDKs, analytics frameworks, or advertising networks. There is no Google Firebase Analytics, Meta SDK, Mixpanel, Sentry, or third-party telemetry bundled into the application.
5. Data Retention, Portability & User Rights
Because your data is stored exclusively on your physical device, you maintain full, unrestricted data sovereignty:
- Export Anytime: You can export your full database to plain JSON or standard CSV spreadsheets at any time.
- Clear Data: You can erase all data instantly via Android Settings → Apps → Nomos → Clear Storage.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Nomos architecture, statistical engines, and data sovereignty.
How does Smerio Nomos differ from Loop Habit Tracker and other apps?
While Loop is an excellent binary habit tracker, Nomos extends life logging into modular multi-attribute tracking (ratings 1–5, numeric values with units, boolean tags) and automated statistical inference. Nomos doesn’t just record whether you did a habit—it automatically runs Chi-Square tests, Odds Ratios, and N-of-1 elimination experiments to tell you how habits affect each other.
What are N-of-1 personal trials and why do they matter?
An N-of-1 trial is an empirical single-subject scientific experiment. If you suspect a habit (like late caffeine or dairy) is causing an adverse symptom (like poor sleep or digestive upset), Nomos sets up a structured 2-phase protocol: 7 days of elimination followed by 7 days of reintroduction. Nomos calculates the Relative Risk (RR) and p-value to provide a statistical verdict.
How does Nomos guarantee privacy with zero internet permissions?
Nomos does not include android.permission.INTERNET in its application manifest. The Android operating system physically forbids Nomos from opening network connections. No data can ever be transmitted to external servers, ad networks, or cloud databases.
How do I backup or transfer my data to a new device?
Under Settings → Encrypted Backup, you can generate a password-protected .backup snapshot encrypted with AES-256-GCM. You can safely transfer this file to your new device via USB, local SD card, or private drive, and restore it in one tap.
Can I import my existing habit logs from Loop Habit Tracker or spreadsheets?
Yes! Nomos includes a dedicated one-tap Loop Habit Tracker (.db / .zip) importer that automatically normalizes names, converts integer multipliers to true decimals, and preserves your streaks. It also supports generic CSV spreadsheet imports.
How do I download Smerio Nomos on Android?
You can download Smerio Nomos directly from the Google Play Store with a single tap. Simply search for "Smerio Nomos" or visit play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.smer.nomos. No waitlists, accounts, or complex onboarding required.
Which Android versions and devices are supported?
Nomos supports Android 8.0 (API level 26) and above. It is fully optimized for Android 14 and Android 15 with native Material 3 design, dynamic color matching, and edge-to-edge support.
